We decided to jam as much as possible into one day.
So we had the granite, the plumber, kitchen and den door touching up all done on the same day.

Why not?

After a crazy day (we both skipped out of work to check in) the place looks awesome!

More Friday work

Looky looky! We got appliances!

It continues to come along.
Washed and sealed the floor, and moved the appliances back in.
We now can do laundry, use the oven and have a living room.

The things we take for granted!

Ensuite Vanity in-ish

Steph's idea to change the vanity in the ensuite bathroom to make this a "whole apt Reno" was a great idea. However, tearing out the old vanity was a filthy pain in the arse.

Took much of Saturday, and will need the plumbers love to deal with a weird drain situation.

Now that's better!

The guys came in, brought the new cabinets and just like that it starts to look solid!
Monday and the cabinets will be done.
Then comes the granite...
And just like that the kitchen starts to come together.

Oh yeah!

Is no news, News?

I wish there was something to show, but after a slew of vacation days by the contractors and some sickness, very little has happened.

Very little.

Kitchen coming tomorrow, installed Monday.

Update. Floors are still going in.
Kitchen and utility room.
Still dusty

Ps - there's a toilet in our dining room.

Floors going in!

2 days in and we have old tile out, and new tile going in.
Old problem is that we didn't put a drop sheet over everything.

Oh boo!

Granite

I'm starting not to like Granite.

We can't find any that we like, and its driving me bonkers.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Took the afternoon off work to take all that trashed kitchen to the dump.

Luck has it that the dump is located 5km away.

Grabbed a van at budget, drove home, and preceeded to load it up with 1 kitchen.

A couple of hours later I was out with the Derb, before i headed off the to Dump to drop off the mother load. Round trip back to Budget - 12km.

If my back doesn't seize up tomorrow, it will be well worth the $1000 savings!

Dumped!

Demo-licious! - Feb 10th

In retrospec, the sledge hammer would have been worth going to Ally's to get.

But, within 2 hours, the kitchen was toast.

Thank god for particle board cabinets.

Amazingly, with a turn of the wrench, the pipes buckled. In so many ways, this kitchen was well past its expiry date.

Tomorrow; the dump.

Rest in pieces, Kitchen.

Getting Ready - Feb 9th

Start day is fast approaching.

We bought our new Micro, vanity, sink and Tiling, all stored in the Den.

It is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in your kitchen.

Steph is busting her butt getting everything out of there while I demo.

Friday is dump day!!!
